Fatal Hit-and-Run in Aragatsotn: Police Locate Driver Who Fled the Scene
On July 1, a fatal hit-and-run incident occurred in the Aragatsotn region. At approximately 4:00 AM, the driver of an unidentified vehicle struck a pedestrian, 39-year-old Edgar Petrosyan from the village of Ohanavan, on the 30 km stretch of the Margara-Vanadzor highway, as reported by Shamshyan.com.
The injured pedestrian was transported to the "Ashtarak" medical center, where he succumbed to his injuries one hour later without regaining consciousness. The driver, having left him helpless, fled the scene.
Authorities managed to identify the driver involved in the incident, and operational teams were dispatched to the suspect's residence. The driver was identified as 29-year-old Kolya Hayrapetyan, also a resident of Ohanavan. Following discussions with his relatives, K. Hayrapetyan presented himself to the Ashtarak police in the morning, admitting that he was responsible for the hit-and-run while driving his VAZ 2106 vehicle.
