Tragic Incident in Tavush Region: One Brother Dies, Another Injured in Tractor Overturn
Today, on June 28, a tragic incident occurred in the Tavush region. Around 1:20 PM, a call was received at the emergency management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reporting that a tractor had overturned in the "Taghvorants" neighborhood of the village of Artsvaberd in the Berd community.
According to Shamshyan.com, a team of firefighters from the Tavush regional rescue department, unit 65, arrived at the scene with one fire truck.
Before the rescuers arrived, citizens managed to pull out a passenger, 37-year-old Karen Babasyan, from beneath the “DT-75” tracked tractor. He was then transported to the Berd Medical Center. Meanwhile, the driver, 30-year-old Hakob Babasyan, was extracted from the tractor by the firefighters and was promptly taken to the ambulance that had arrived from the Berd Medical Center.
Both were admitted to the mentioned medical facility, where Hakob Babasyan unfortunately passed away without regaining consciousness.
Currently, police and rescuers are awaiting the arrival of investigators from the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense, as it has been established that both the deceased and the injured serve in the same military unit of the Ministry of Defense. According to eyewitness reports, the deceased and the injured are brothers.
