AATC Identifies Violations in 'Yerevan City' Supermarkets
The Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia has continued its intensified supervisory activities today in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan. Concurrent surprise inspections were conducted in five administrative districts of the capital, namely in Center, Malatia-Sebastia, Kanaker-Zeytun, Erebuni, and Shengavit, at 'Yerevan City' supermarkets to ascertain the compliance with safety norms established by the Armenian Prime Minister.
The inspection body has received reports from citizens via a hotline regarding some of these shopping centers. The surprise inspections revealed that the norms set by the Prime Minister are not fully adhered to by 'Yerevan City' supermarkets and several other operators. Issues were documented related to temperature measurement, records of disinfection activities, the use of disinfectant solutions, and several other matters.
Requirements for accurately filling out disinfection and temperature measurement logs were violated. Specifically, some stores lacked records of disinfection activities and the shelf life of disinfectant solutions. Informational sheets mandated by the Prime Minister were not visibly posted, and markings near sales booths were absent. Some operators used disinfectant solutions that did not meet the conditions specified under pandemic circumstances.
Based on the recorded violations, several operators will be issued suspension requests to the Prime Minister. Although extensive recent efforts indicate that operators have become more conscientious, unfortunately, cases of repeated violations are also being documented.
AATC specialists continue to monitor operators throughout the republic and present violations to the Prime Minister's office. The AATC reminds that strict adherence to the safety rules established by the Prime Minister is essential, and supervision and monitoring will remain ongoing.
