Prevention of Large-scale Drug Smuggling at Sevan Penitentiary
On June 18, around 12:00 PM, employees of the Sevan penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, acting on operational information, discovered a packet during a search of the area. The packet contained separate wrapped items, including 83 grams of a green substance resembling marijuana, as well as white crystalline substances weighing 0.6 and 0.7 grams, suspected to be methamphetamine. Additionally, 19 blister packets of 'Pregabalin' (Lyrica) labeled 'PGN 300' weighing a total of 9.7 grams were found, along with a folding knife. This information was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Corrections Service of the Ministry of Justice.
Materials are being prepared regarding the incident, and a forensic chemical examination has been appointed.
