Mikayel Tumasyan Benefits from Redistribution of Other Community Leaders' Expenses: 'Haykakan Zham' Report

'Haykakan Zham' newspaper reports that after the Velvet Revolution in Armenia, all government agencies started reducing the number of service vehicles. However, the Yerevan municipality plans to replace a large number of vehicles soon, claiming that they are old and that it would be more reasonable to update them rather than repair them. In other words, the municipality has deviated from the revolutionary standards.

It has already been revealed that 9.9 million drams have been allocated for the purchase of a service vehicle for Mikayel Tumasyan, the head of the Davtashen administrative district. Yesterday, Deputy Mayor Hayk Sargsyan explained this necessity by stating that the district head had been using his personal car, which was involved in an accident, and a suitable vehicle has yet to be found for the official.

'Haykakan Zham' learned that the relevant decision was made by the mayor recently on June 5, and the amount was allocated through a budget redistribution for the city. As justification for the redistribution, the mayor presented the letters from the heads of the Arabkir, Davtashen, and Nubarashen administrative districts.

What letters are we talking about? By examining the documents, we found out that the redistribution has occurred in various sectors such as leisure, sports services, tourism, communal services, and more. It turns out that the head of the Davtashen district benefited from the redistribution of expenses from other community leaders.

Let us recall that the service vehicle for the Mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, has been withdrawn from auction since October 1, 2019, with a starting price of 7 million drams, but there has not been a buyer until now.
