Criminal Case Initiated Over Gunshot Injury of a 20-Year-Old

On June 10, 2020, at 21:43, a report was received from the "Astghik" medical center that a 20-year-old resident of Yerevan was admitted for treatment with a gunshot wound to the left leg.

At the same time, residents reported that around 21:30 on June 10, 2020, a fight took place near School No. 174 in the South-Western A1 district of Yerevan, during which gunshots were heard.

In connection with the incident, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has launched a criminal case in the Malatia-Sebastia Administrative District under Article 258 (hooliganism) part 4 and Article 235 (illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosive materials, or explosive devices) part 1 of the Criminal Code.

A number of investigative and procedural actions have been carried out, including an examination of the scene, during which 3 pieces of 7.62mm caliber cartridge casings and 2 live rounds were found in the vicinity of the mentioned school. Various expert examinations have been appointed. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
