123 Confirmed Cases of Coronavirus in Syunik Province
As of now, there are 123 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Syunik Province, according to a statement from the Syunik Governor's Office.
The statement specifically mentions: “The Syunik Governor's Office warns and demands the following: currently, there are 123 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Syunik Province, with 63 individuals recovered and 60 cases still active. In detail:
- Kapan – 4 cases
- Goris – 2 cases
- Sisian – 11 cases
- Megri – 40 cases
- Tatev – 2 cases
- Gorayk – 1 case
18 patients are receiving treatment at the Kapan Medical Center, while 42 patients are asymptomatic. A total of 261 individuals are in self-isolation.
Despite our repeated calls for caution, the situation has worsened due to the cynicism exhibited by some of our fellow citizens. A recent example from Kapan (where the cause was participation in a birthday celebration in another community) has led to new outbreaks in Sisian (birthday celebration) and Tatev (funeral and burial ceremony) communities.
WE DEMAND that individuals refrain from participating in mass events, exclude the organization of mass gatherings, comply with the rules of personal protective measures, personal hygiene, and those in self-isolation strictly follow self-isolation protocols.
