Mariam Pashinyan wrote on her Facebook page: “Why is it shameful to stand in line? Why do people feel good when they cut in line and pass others, when they violate public order without facing any consequences? What is the beauty of this phenomenon? Why do we think that impudent public behavior is a sign of strength, and why are we praised for such behavior? Let’s be mindful of what we encourage in our loved ones. When the rules require us to stay home, postpone our birthdays, our joy, or our plans, we feel empowered when we break those rules.

The demand for equality before the law must begin with each of us: Have you ever seen, or have you seen in the past, how former officials acted, or how they act now? This is nothing but a complex. Our behavior is directly related to the behavior of the visible masses in society. When we are mocked for adhering to rules and order, we develop a complex, believing that we will be ridiculed for keeping order and thus we do not maintain public order. For about 30 years, we have been shown that power lies in weapons, money, cutting in line, pushing ahead in line, and having wealthy acquaintances and circles.

We have been shown this through television, through behavior, and through various methods. Now it is time for us to change this together.”
