I Was Only There for an Hour to Check the Bunker: Trump on Presence in Bunker During Protests

U.S. President Donald Trump has commented on his reasons for being in the White House underground bunker during protests over the past weekend, stating that he merely "checked on" the bunker. According to Fox News Radio, Trump mentioned in an interview that he was in the bunker around noon, not during the protests.

"I was not there long, it didn't even last an hour, as I was checking the bunker," he said.

Trump also disclosed that he did not authorize the dispersal of protesters before walking to Saint John's Church, which had been partially burned, where he posed for photos holding a Bible.
