Floyd Mayweather to Cover Funeral Expenses of George Floyd

Former world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather is set to cover the funeral costs for George Floyd, an African American man who died as a result of police actions in the United States.

“He’s probably going to be furious that I’m saying this, but Mayweather will definitely pay for the entire funeral service,” said the boxer’s spokesperson Leonard Ellerbe in an interview with ESPN.

Ellerbe noted that Mayweather has already made contact with Floyd’s family to discuss the details of the service. According to the representative, this decision is not about self-promotion or a desire to remind people of himself at someone else’s tragedy.

“Floyd has been doing this for over 20 years,” Ellerbe emphasized.
