Two Employees of Yerevan Municipality Diagnosed with Coronavirus
There are two confirmed cases of coronavirus at the municipality, both registered last week. This was stated by the head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Yerevan Municipality, Yosif Kubatyana, during a conversation with NEWS.am on June 1. He addressed reports in the media suggesting that there are dozens of employees in the municipality whose relatives have been diagnosed with coronavirus, yet neither offices are being properly disinfected, nor are those who have come into contact being tested.
"They are not in vulnerable groups; all employees in hazardous groups are not coming to work. All regulations set by the commandant's office are being adhered to, and offices are being disinfected. All employees are required to wear masks and gloves, and all existing guidelines are strictly followed in the municipality," he told the news outlet.
In response to the question about reports indicating that one of the infected is the secretary of Mayor Haik Marutyan, and that she has used the bus provided for municipal employees, Kubatyana replied: "Based on personal data, I cannot disclose the names of those infected or their identities. Strict hygiene protocols are also maintained on the buses; they are disinfected, and people wear masks, just like on public transport buses, there is no difference."
