Prime Minister: Compensation for Healthcare Workers Fighting Coronavirus Has Increased 2-3 Times
There is a shortage of healthcare workers in Armenia to fight against coronavirus and provide medical assistance. The Ministry of Health regularly issues statements calling for both doctors and nurses, as well as volunteers, to join the effort.
During a briefing today, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed this issue in response to a journalist's question regarding the steps being taken to fill this gap, and how treatment would proceed without new measures in place. He stated, “The system currently needs more resuscitation specialists and anesthesiologists. The Ministry has taken steps to engage a large number of volunteers and healthcare workers, clinical coordinators.” He added that efforts are also being made to enhance medical capabilities throughout the country.
