Strict Monitoring Measures Implemented for Public Transport in Davtashen
On May 26, 2023, specialists from the Transport Security Department of the State Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety Inspectorate, along with employees from the Public Order Security Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia and the Road Police service, conducted joint monitoring measures and continuous observation in the Davtashen administrative district of Yerevan. This was aimed at ensuring compliance with the requirements outlined in the Prime Minister's decision No. 74 dated May 14.
During the monitoring activities that commenced early in the morning, oversight functions were carried out for 65 passenger taxis. A total of 20 violations were identified, particularly involving the presence of passengers next to drivers in front seats. Additionally, monitoring was conducted on 55 vehicles operating on regular routes, uncovering 4 violations. In 3 of these instances, two passengers were observed being transported in the front seats of a minibus, prompting their removal from the vehicle or being offered relocation to the back. In another case, a bus driver was found operating without a protective mask.
Reports on the violations found by the inspectorate have been documented by the Police of Armenia. Continuous active monitoring directed towards ensuring the safety of public transport operations in the Davtashen administrative district is set to continue as per the decision of the Prime Minister.
Suspension footage is available on the government FTP platform under the name KTHATMD-Davtashen.
