5.5 Million People Infected with Coronavirus
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, 5,500,607 people have been infected worldwide, with 2,302,069 recovering and 346,721 fatalities. Currently, there are 2,851,817 active cases around the globe.
According to Worldometer data, the United States leads in the number of infections, with 1,686,436 reported cases. Other countries in the top five include Brazil (365,213), Russia (344,481), Spain (282,852), and the United Kingdom (259,559).
In terms of fatality rates from COVID-19, the U.S. ranks first, having lost 99,300 lives to the virus. Following the U.S. are the United Kingdom (36,793), Italy (32,785), Spain (28,752), and France (28,367).
According to WHO data, the number of infected individuals worldwide has increased by 101,502 in the last 24 hours.
