VIDEO: 33-Year-Old Resident of Artashat Shot Young Man in the Leg During Argument
On January 22, the police department of Artashat received a report from a hospital that a young man was admitted with a gunshot wound to the thigh. The operational group of the Artashat police department arrived at the hospital, while simultaneously taking measures to identify the scene of the incident.
It soon became clear that on the same day, an argument and subsequent fight took place among several residents of Artashat at the intersection of Acharian and Grigor Zohrapi streets, during which the young man sustained the gunshot wound.
A criminal case was initiated. It was revealed that during the altercation, a 33-year-old resident of Artashat shot the young man in the leg with a hunting rifle. On February 18, a warrant was issued for his arrest. The police began search and explanatory activities.
The police actions yielded results months later. Thanks to the explanatory work of the law enforcement, on May 13, the 33-year-old resident of Artashat surrendered to the police and provided a confessional statement. He also presented the hunting rifle and stated that it belonged to his deceased grandfather.
An examination has been appointed. The 33-year-old resident of Artashat has been taken into custody. The investigation continues.
