Large Number of Vehicles Stuck in Rainwater at Government Building
In Yerevan, an emergency situation has arisen for over two hours now. According to Shamshyan.com, due to heavy rainfall, the administrative area of the transport department of the Prime Minister's Office has become impassable. A large number of vehicles are partially submerged in water, and drivers are unable to retrieve their cars.
Emergency responders from the Ministry of Emergency Situations have arrived on-site, along with representatives from Veolia Water. However, they are unable to take action as the water level exceeds one meter.
All of the vehicles belong to government and presidential administration staff. The accumulation of rainwater is attributed to blocked drainage pipes, and had the Yerevan municipality and Veolia Water cleared the drainage system, this situation could have been avoided. The water has risen so high that it has flooded the administrative building.
