Dozens of Trucks Filled with Corpses Found in New York, New York Times Reports
Dozens of trucks filled with corpses have been discovered near the Brooklyn funeral home in New York, according to the New York Times. Neighbors complained to the police about a foul odor. Upon arrival, law enforcement found trucks containing dozens of decomposing bodies.
One official reported that the funeral home began storing the bodies in trucks after its refrigeration units stopped working. It is still unknown whether any of these individuals may have been infected with the coronavirus.
The NYT noted that funeral service organizations are overwhelmed due to the surge in death rates associated with COVID-19. CNN specifically clarified that four trucks contain a total of 60 bodies, with at least one of the trucks lacking a refrigeration unit.
The city has been considered the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the United States for several weeks now.
