We Are Trapped, Unable to Return to Armenia. Armenians in the U.S. Ready to Pay for Tickets

A large number of citizens of the Republic of Armenia currently in the U.S. are unable to return home. This was stated by Gegham Ksdzhikyan, the director of TsiO LLC, who is currently in Los Angeles, in a conversation with Lurer.com.

"Myself and many Armenian citizens have been unable to return home for over a month. I have applied both to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Armenian consulate in Los Angeles, but to no avail. They provide disgraceful responses, blaming us for not departing on the last flight to Armenia, but that was not a special flight organized by them to transport Armenian citizens; it was just a regular flight. The consulate staff also respond to my phone calls with contempt and rudeness. They claim they are trying to do everything, but when you ask what exactly, there is no answer. We are ready to pay for the ticket fare; we do not want to travel at their expense," expressed our compatriot, emphasizing that it is evident that no steps are being taken to resolve the issue.

To find out what measures the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is taking to organize the return of our compatriots, the media contacted the Ministry's spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan. "If there is a flight from the U.S. to Armenia shortly, our compatriots may be able to be transported; however, there is currently no information regarding this. Our embassy and the General Consulate in Los Angeles are in constant contact with our compatriots registered at these two diplomatic missions and are trying to respond to their raised issues to the best of their ability," she said.

The spokesperson of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that according to recent data, the number of Armenian citizens registered at our missions in Los Angeles and Washington has reached nearly 200.
