US Intelligence Predicted Coronavirus Pandemic in November: ABC
American intelligence was aware of the outbreak of the virus in Wuhan, China, as early as November 2019. This was reported on April 8 by ABC News, citing its sources.
A report declassified by the National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI) indicates that an infection was spreading in the Chinese city, causing people to change their normal way of life. It also affected business activity. Such conclusions were drawn based on collected data and satellite imagery.
The report noted that the outbreak could have catastrophic consequences. Moreover, according to intelligence data, Chinese authorities concealed that the pandemic was out of control, and Chinese doctors were only aware that they were dealing with a new disease by the end of December.
According to ABC's sources, the report was presented to officials on November 26, involving the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the White House. The topic was discussed during regular briefings with American high-ranking officials in December and January.
