We Discussed Gas Price Reduction with Vladimir Putin: Prime Minister
“Today I had a phone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, where we discussed the issue of reducing gas prices,” said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a live broadcast on Facebook.
The Prime Minister noted that we currently face the challenge of efficient operation of the gas system and this issue needs to be resolved.
“I told the Russian President that given this crisis situation, I expect that we will be able to discuss this topic and reach a mutual agreement, and that the Russian President will intervene in this process so that we can make decisions regarding the application presented by ‘Gazprom Armenia.’ The government and our public do not perceive that such a decision can be made in this crisis situation,” the Prime Minister stated.
Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that during today’s phone conversation with Putin, he reiterated that it would be appropriate for Armenia to pay for gas in rubles.
