Market Surveillance Inspectorate Receives Concerns Regarding the Quality of Alcohol Gel
In recent days, the Market Surveillance Inspectorate of Armenia has received numerous concerns regarding the quality of hand sanitizers, specifically alcohol gel, through both press and social media, as well as telephone calls. This was reported on the government website.
«We remind that as a result of inspections conducted in the production facilities of two dozen alcohol gel manufacturers in Armenia, it was found that the products of 19 manufacturers are accompanied by conformity assessment documents (a declaration is available) and the products bear appropriate labeling, while one manufacturer’s product lacked a conformity assessment document, although it had the labeling. Following the request of the Inspectorate, this manufacturer has since applied for and received the necessary conformity assessment document.
However, according to various reports, there are also alcohol gels on the market with dubious origins and compositions. We urge wholesalers and retailers to accept and sell only products that have conformity assessment documents and appropriate labeling; otherwise, full responsibility falls on the respective business entities.
