Levon Aronian's Poem in Memory of Ariana Kaoli
The leading figure in Armenian chess, Levon Aronian, has shared a poem on Instagram dedicated to the memory of his late wife, Ariana Kaoli.
It is noteworthy that Ariana Kaoli was involved in an accident in Yerevan on March 14. Around 11:50 PM, she had crashed her Lexus into the concrete support of the 'Three Corner' bridge on Sebastia Street. Following the incident, she underwent several surgeries. Ariana Kaoli was 33 years old. Originally from the Philippines, she was an Australian chess player, holding the title of International Women’s Master from FIDE. Since 2016, she had been the editor-in-chief of the 'Traveler' weekly newspaper published in Yerevan. On November 21, 2017, Karen Karapetyan appointed her as an advisor to the Prime Minister of Armenia on a voluntary basis. Levon Aronian and Ariana Kaoli married in 2017.
