Azerbaijan-Controlled Page Spreads Fake News in Armenia and Artsakh

“There is a profile with an Armenian name and surname, Valeri Avetisyan, which is likely a hacked page operated from Azerbaijan,” stated Tigran Abrahamyan, the advisor to the President of the Republic of Artsakh, on his Facebook page.

“This profile has particularly been ‘updated’ in recent days and spreads fake news about the coronavirus situation in Armenia and Artsakh (link). Previously, it focused on disseminating obvious false information against military personnel and individuals associated with the armed forces. Moreover, similar hacked profiles can be found in numerous groups from Armenia, Artsakh, and the diaspora, where there are plenty of such accounts.”
