Government to Discuss Imposing State of Emergency in Certain Areas of Armenia Tomorrow: Nikol Pashinyan
“No political goal can be more important than public health.” This was announced today during a Facebook live stream by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, referring to the upcoming referendum scheduled for April 5.
“In the coming days, we will discuss and make a decision. If we see that the situation will evolve in a way that the referendum and the epidemic situation contradict each other, we will make a decision regarding that. But that decision will be justified. At this moment, I do not want to give my final assessment. The government will also discuss the possibility of imposing a state of emergency in certain areas of Armenia tomorrow, if such a necessity arises. I want to emphasize that our actions are aimed not at a situation where the situation has gone out of control, but we want to do everything possible to implement widespread preventive measures,” the Prime Minister stressed.
