State of Emergency Declared in Slovakia
The Government of Slovakia has declared a state of emergency across the entire country starting March 12 at 6:00 AM due to the threat posed by the spread of coronavirus. This announcement was made by Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini.
“The aim of declaring a state of emergency is to implement necessary measures to limit and mitigate the consequences of the spread of coronavirus in the republic,” the government decision states.
The document also outlines the measures that individual state bodies and agencies must take to address the crisis in the country.
As of March 11, Slovakia has reported 10 cases of COVID-19.
