Only Served for 3 Days: The Body of the Soldier Will Be Brought Home Today

“The body of Zohrab will be brought home today; the situation at home is terrible,” said Norik Martirosyan, the Mayor of Pokr Vedi community in Ararat Province, about Zohrab Sianosyan, who was killed by enemy fire at the border with Nakhichevan yesterday.

“They are a socially disadvantaged family. He, his wife, and children lived with his parents, along with his brother’s family. Before becoming a contract soldier, he used to go abroad for work, his brother was also abroad and just returned home last night,” Martirosyan told Lurer.com.

The 26-year-old Zohrab leaves behind two daughters, one aged 4 and the other 2. His wife works in the community greenhouses. The mayor described Zohrab as a modest and smart young man who was the son of one of his former employees. “If you asked him to do something, he would go without a word and do it. They are a hardworking family. This is a tragedy; I have no words,” he emphasized.

The contract soldier began his service last Friday. “He had only been there for 3 days; he was probably just starting to get into the rhythm. Perhaps he wasn’t familiar with the terrain, maybe he was careless, or maybe it was simply beyond his control,” the mayor speculated.

It should be noted that yesterday, around 15:30, Private Zohrab Grigori Sianosyan (born 1994, Ararat Province) received a fatal gunshot wound to the chest from enemy fire directed towards a combat position of the military unit located in the southeastern area.
