Philippine Publication Calls Steve Jobs Armenian
The Philippine publication Philstar has released an article discussing Armenia and reasons to visit the country. Notably, it mentions that Armenia is home to famous figures such as Charles Aznavour, Kim Kardashian, Andre Agassi, and even Steve Jobs.
“What do Cher, Kardashian, Agassi, Aznavour, and Jobs have in common? They are all Armenian. Steve Jobs' stepmother, Clara Hagopian, was Armenian. Jobs loved everything Armenian and even had a good command of the language,” the article states.
The authors of the article, who visited Armenia, were greatly impressed by the repository of ancient manuscripts in Yerevan, called the Matenadaran. The Filipinos also appreciated the ancient Christian traditions, the musical art of the duduk, and traditional Armenian cuisine, including khashlama, basturma, dolma, and harissa.
The authors refer to Mount Ararat as a national symbol of Armenia, depicted on the country's coat of arms. They also talked about the Armenian Genocide of 1915 and the films that mention Armenia and the Armenian people.
