The Issue of Legal Selling of Sig Fish Will Be Resolved This Year: Grigoryan

The issue of sig fish will be resolved this year. This means that if you see sig fish for sale, it will be legal, having paid the nature use fee, said Minister of Environment Erik Grigoryan during a conversation with reporters today.

"This sig will be more expensive because ecosystem fish cannot be cheaper than farmed fish," the minister stated.

He emphasized that they have given instructions to ensure round-the-clock monitoring in Lake Sevan, including on weekends, and dozens of criminal cases have been initiated against individuals involved in fishing poaching.

Erik Grigoryan also reported that last year, the industrial stock of sig fish in Sevan was 750 tons, while this year it is 70 tons. "The total stock is about 3,000 tons," he said.
