Aleppo's Main Hospital Reopened
The Syrian authorities have restored the main hospital in Aleppo. It now operates 21 departments equipped with modern automated devices and over a hundred specialists, reports Armenpress.
“We have finally reached the necessary level. However, we still lack specialists. Some left during the war, and some were killed,” said Manaf Sharabjin, head of the surgical department, to Russian journalists.
The university hospital continued its operations during the hostilities and was repeatedly subjected to shelling by militants; nevertheless, doctors kept receiving patients. Following the liberation of the city, restoration of the hospital commenced.
Initially, according to the doctors, they attempted to purchase American equipment, but due to sanctions, this was not possible. Now the hospital is equipped with modern European devices. Currently, the university hospital treats not only patients from Aleppo but also those from other parts of Syria. Approximately 600 medical students are also doing their practical training there, who will soon become fully qualified specialists, as reported by RIA Novosti.
