Two initial cases of the novel coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Hungary. This was reported by Reuters on Wednesday, March 4.
The infected individuals are students from Iran. “We have the first two confirmed cases, who needed to be hospitalized. They do not have any symptoms, but the fact of the infection has been confirmed,” said Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
It is noted that the students had gone home to celebrate the Iranian New Year. After returning to Hungary, one of them decided to get tested, despite showing no symptoms. The test result came back positive. The wife of one student and the girlfriend of the other have been quarantined.
