Deputy Minister Denies Involvement in the Criminal Case Regarding the Sale of AOKS to an Offshore Company
Grisha Tamrazyan, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, assures that he has no connection with the criminal case regarding the privatization of AOKS and its sale to an offshore company.
According to reports from Armenpress, Tamrazyan issued a statement, which is presented below: “In recent days, certain media outlets and individuals are trying to connect my name with the privatization of AOKS and the criminal case opened concerning its sale to an offshore company. I declare that I have no connection to the aforementioned process.
In the same building, but at a different address, I declared my ownership back in 2018 when I was nominated as a candidate for the parliament by the 'My Step' alliance. I also submitted a declaration regarding this before taking up the position of Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
The property in question concerns the area of the well-known 'Tbilisi' restaurant from Soviet times, which was privatized back in 1996 and has no relation to the 'AOKS' NGO. At the time I acquired this area, I held no state office; moreover, prior to my acquisition, it had already been resold several times, and the purchase occurred 21 years post-privatization, in 2017.
I kindly ask that any future publications on this topic rely solely on the aforementioned facts.”
