Passport and Visa Department Calls for Adherence to Health Preservation Rules

The Passport and Visa Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia calls for adherence to several rules:

Dear Citizens,
Considering that clear guidelines have been issued by health sector officials for health preservation and the prevention of potential virus spread, we kindly ask you to also observe the following simple rules:

1. Due to a lack of knowledge of the legislation, sometimes a parent presents themselves at the passport service with a child under 16 for obtaining a passport, registering with the state population register, receiving public service numbers, and other actions where the child's presence is not required, or claiming that there is no one to care for the child at home. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO CONSIDER that any passport actions for a child under 16 are completed without mandatory presence of the child. Therefore, when visiting passport services, please refrain from bringing children with you.
2. Sometimes, passport services are attended not only by citizens who need to apply for a specific service but also by accompanying individuals. We kindly ask you to refrain from accompanying others when visiting passport services.
3. We also inform you that, apart from cases of obtaining a passport and applying for Armenian citizenship, all other actions can also be performed through an authorized person. Therefore, it should be noted that one person can apply on behalf of other family members, relatives, or close ones in addition to applying specifically for themselves, even with the presence of a general written authorization.
