More than 1000 beneficiaries with shops, good houses, and cars will no longer receive benefits in Ararat region: Governor

The Governor of Ararat region, Garik Sargsyan, mentioned during a meeting with journalists that 1,027 beneficiaries who received social assistance after 2017 have been removed from the lists.

“We have cleaned the lists of beneficiaries. Those who have everything in order according to the documents but have a shop, a good house, or a car have been removed, even if everything is not registered in their name,” said Sargsyan.

He emphasized once again that for years, hundreds of people have received social benefits without actually needing them, while many needy families have been excluded from the lists.

The governor also reported that after cleaning the lists, large livestock were provided to 60 needy families.

Sargsyan noted that warnings have been issued to two social workers for not being objective in assessing the level of need of families.
