Ministry of Defense Urges Families of Soldiers Not to Visit Military Units Due to Coronavirus Concerns
The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has issued a statement regarding the recent outbreaks of the novel coronavirus in the region, particularly in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Starting from February 25, visits to military units by parents and relatives of servicemen have been prohibited in all branches of the Armenian Armed Forces. This measure includes all types of leave and releases for conscripted servicemen, including rehabilitation (medical) leave, with the exception of those serving under the 'I Am' program.
The preventive measures implemented in the armed forces aim to prevent the infiltration of the coronavirus into military units, ensuring as much safety as possible for servicemen from infection and facilitating the proper organization of anti-epidemic activities when necessary. We urge all families of servicemen to refrain from visiting military units and to approach these measures thoughtfully, as they are in the best interests of the servicemen themselves.
