Coronavirus Should Not Become a Weapon for Our Enemies in Our Country, Rouhani Responds to the US

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has strongly responded to the United States' statements regarding the spread of the new coronavirus in Iran. Rouhani urged attention to domestic issues.

Previously, the US Secretary of State had claimed that Iranian authorities were concealing the scale of the new coronavirus outbreak in the country. He reminded that Iran ranks second in the world for fatalities after China due to the virus.

In response, Rouhani stated: “The coronavirus should not become a weapon for our enemies to halt work and production in our country. Americans should better think about the thousands of people who have died from the flu in their own country,” said the Iranian president.
