China Announces Timelines for Coronavirus Retreat and Conclusion

In China, the outbreak of the 2019-nCoV coronavirus is expected to retreat by mid-February and conclude by the end of March, according to a report by Reuters citing a statement from a representative of the Chinese government.

Jun Nanshan, head of the national expert group on virus control and prevention, has confirmed this information. “In about 10 days, the spread of the virus will reach its peak and then retreat,” he stated during an interview with one of the publications.

He emphasized that the most effective methods to combat the pandemic include rapid identification of cases and isolation of individuals. Nanshan has also suggested including experts in managing severe cases to assist in Chinese hospitals. He believes that this move will help save more lives.
