The Mystery of Armenian Cars: Police Delegation to Travel to Kazakhstan Tomorrow

In recent reports, it was noted that over the last three years, 200,000 foreign-registered cars have entered Kazakhstan from Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. Only 40,000 of these have been registered. The low prices of cars sold in Armenia have attracted Kazakhs, who come, purchase the vehicles, and transport them to Kazakhstan. They have been driving without registering them, using Armenian license plates, and without customs clearance.

According to the legislation, a foreign-registered vehicle cannot remain in Kazakhstan for more than one year. It must either be registered or taken out of the country. However, the Kazakhs have not cleared customs, as they argue that this process costs more than the price of the car itself.

Presently, the Kazakhstani police are facing a significant problem. Thousands of foreign-registered cars are committing violations, but they are unable to trace their owners. These vehicles are speeding, committing murders, and engaging in robberies, while the police are left uncertain about to whom they should send the fines. A tense situation has developed, and the Kazakh leadership is demanding an urgent solution.

According to AuroraNews.am, a delegation composed of high-ranking officials from the police will travel to Kazakhstan tomorrow to address the situation and familiarize themselves with the problem on-site.
