Beijing Authorities Cancel All Public Events

Beijing authorities have decided to cancel all large public events in the city to prevent the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the coronavirus. This is stated in a report from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

According to the statement, “To prevent and control the epidemic, reduce mass gatherings, and ensure a stable and happy Spring Festival (Chun Jie, Lunar New Year), the decision was made by the working group of the municipal committee of the Communist Party and the government of Beijing. Effective immediately, all major events are canceled,” the department's report noted.
