The Government Opposes Benefits for Students Who Lost Breadwinners Until Age 26

Members of the National Assembly from the "My Step" faction have proposed that students who have lost a breadwinner should receive benefits until the age of 26, as they can continue their education until that age. Current legislation stipulates that such benefits can be received only until the age of 23.

However, the government opposes this. Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Smbat Saikyan explained today in the parliament that although this is not a significant burden for the government, they object because it does not align with the philosophy of other laws. According to Saikyan, if the law is to be adopted, it is necessary that working students do not receive these benefits.
