4,428 Surgeries Carried Out Under Malignant Neoplasms Surgical Treatment Program, Torosyan

From 2019 onwards, under the state order framework, 4,428 surgeries have been performed as part of the malignant neoplasms surgical treatment program, compared to 979 in 2018. This information was shared by the Minister of Health of Armenia, Arsen Torosyan, on his Facebook page, where he expressed his desire to highlight one significant figure from last year’s results.

“The growth is 352.3% (more than 4.5 times). Oncology, starting from prevention and ending with treatment, is one of our priorities. In the near future, we will announce the launch of a national program for treatment with an important drug for targeted therapy of breast cancer, the breast cancer screening program, as well as the start of the inpatient palliative care program,” the minister wrote.
