Snow Falling: Roads Closed Across the Republic
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of January 16 at 20:30, there are closed and difficult to pass roads in the territory of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass and the Sotk-Karvachar road are closed for trucks and difficult to navigate for other vehicles. The H-31 road section between Hartashen and Tashir is also closed.
On the Kajaran-Kapan-Goris road in the Syunik region, there are areas with black ice. Snow is falling in cities such as Gavar and Sevan in the Gegharkunik region, as well as along the Sotk-Karvachar road, and in Charentsavan and Hrazdan in Kotayk, Goris, Kapan, and Kajaran in Syunik, Ijevan, Dilijan, and Noyemberyan in Tavush, and in the regions of Aparan and Aragat of Aragatsotn. Snow is absent only in the city of Spitak in Lori region.
According to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia Emergency Ministry of Russia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
