US Had No Clear Information on Soleimani's Planned Attacks, Pompeo Says
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has admitted that US intelligence did not have clear and detailed information on what attacks Iranian General Qassem Soleimani was planning and where they would take place.
It is worth recalling that earlier, President Trump justified his decision to assassinate the general by claiming that he was preparing an attack on one of their embassies, without specifying which embassy it was.
“There is no doubt that a whole series of attacks were planned by Soleimani. We do not know specifically where. But it was a real threat,” Pompeo said in an interview with Fox News.
