Irates: Details on the Arrest of YSU Student Council President - Who and How It Was Organized

Irates newspaper reports: They say the operation to arrest Davit Apoyan was organized through YSU vice-rector Arthur Israelyan, who is a close associate of Minister of Education Arayik Harutyunyan and is considered his eyes and ears at YSU.

Israelyan had called Apoyan several times, summoned him to view videos of some gunshots, inquiring about whom he recognized among the shooters. Following this, the head of the YSU security service, Lyova Arustamyan, testified that Davit Apoyan knew those guys, leading to a highly visible intervention by police who came to arrest Apoyan.

For his services, Arustamyan is reportedly expecting a promotion soon, as he is to be appointed as the director of the student dormitory after the holidays, serving as an example of what happens to loyal supporters versus ‘non-believers’.
