Soleimani Wanted to Blow Up One of Our Embassies, Trump Says
“We did it because they wanted to blow up one of our embassies.” This statement was made by U.S. President Donald Trump during a press briefing at the White House, referring to the assassination of Iran's legendary General Qasem Soleimani.
The U.S. president did not specify which embassy they intended to destroy. “We should have done this a long time ago,” Trump remarked.
It is important to note that on January 3, Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in U.S. airstrikes in Baghdad, along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces. The information has been confirmed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
