1.2 Billion Dram Misappropriation in the Metro

The State Control Service of the Republic of Armenia has summarized the results of the investigation conducted at the Yerevan Metro named after Karen Demirchyan. A review was carried out to assess the legality and effectiveness of financial and economic activities, which revealed systemic violations in the procurement processes. The total volume of misappropriation amounted to 1.2 billion drams.

In an interview with Armdaily.am, Metro Director Gevorg Avetisyan stated that the process is under natural legislative regulation in accordance with the law on the State Control Service. “This implies that all final information from the State Control Service is not subject to publication according to the law. It will be published only when there is a written directive from them. Those documents are currently in the stage of review,” he noted.
