75 Media Representatives Killed Worldwide in 2019
In 2019, 75 representatives of mass media were killed in 26 countries around the world. This report comes from Korrespondent, citing the annual report of the non-governmental organization Press Emblem Campaign.
Last year, the number of killed media representatives was 113. The report states that the decrease in murders is "encouraging," but there is still much work to be done regarding safety concerns.
Mexico leads in the number of victims with 13 people, followed by Afghanistan and Pakistan with 8 each, Syria with 6, Honduras with 6, and the Philippines with 4.
