‘Hraparak’. The Police Will Wiretap and Monitor the NSS, While the NSS Will Monitor the Police

‘Hraparak’ newspaper writes: Amendments to the law on ‘Operational-Intelligence Activities’, proposed by ‘My Step’ MPs Armen Khachatryan and Sipan Pashinyan, grant the police the right to possess technical means necessary for conducting wiretaps of phone conversations.

Previously, the police also had this right, but they executed it using the NSS's technology, thus with the NSS's knowledge. One of the system's employees explained that the purpose of this is for the police to wiretap and monitor the NSS, while the NSS monitors the police. This is conditioned by Nikol Pashinyan’s paranoia, who fears conspiracies and dissatisfaction from power structures and wants to control everything.
