Wounded Soldier Asked for Cake Recipe Before Incident

On December 2, a soldier from Artsakh, David Melikbekyan, was wounded while conversing with his parents prior to the incident. He asked his mother for a cake recipe to prepare a surprise for Arthur Ajamyan's birthday, who, incidentally, was found dead on the same day and at the same location.

This information was shared with NEWS.am by David's uncle. “We know that there were no issues in the unit; everything was fine. He even asked his mother for the cake recipe, as they wanted to celebrate the birthday,” he stated.

Recall that on December 2, 2019, at approximately 06:50, a soldier of compulsory military service, Arthur Ishkhanovich Ajamyan, was fatally shot at the combat position of military unit N, while David Harutyunovich Melikbekyan also sustained gunshot wounds. A criminal investigation has been initiated based on Article 34-104, part 2, clause 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (attempted murder of two or more persons), and the preliminary investigation is ongoing.
