Fire Breaks Out at Home, Rescuers Save Children
On December 7, at 17:08, the "911" service received a report of a fire breaking out in one of the houses on Vardges Surenyants Street in Yerevan (children are inside).
Emergency services dispatched two fire crews from the Yerevan fire and rescue department, a response team from the National Center for Crisis Management, a rescue unit from the special operations center of the Directorate of Emergency Situations, and an emergency physician from the Disaster Medicine Center, who later returned due to lack of necessity.
It was determined that the fire originated from a gas leak of a 10kg gas cylinder in the entrance hall. The fire was extinguished by civilians. The burned gas and partially the entrance door of the hall were damaged.
Inside were Armen A. (born 1949), Tehmina A. (born 2007), Anahit A. (born 2017), and Lilit G. (born 1949). The latter suffered from smoke inhalation, receiving appropriate medical assistance on-site from paramedics. Rescuers evacuated Tehmina and Anahit A. from the house.
