Azerbaijani Journalists Admit There Is No Dissent on the Karabakh Issue in Their Country

Three Azerbaijani journalists who came to Armenia confessed to me during a conversation that there is no dissent in their country regarding the Karabakh issue. This was stated on December 6 during a meeting with journalists by Alexander Iskandaryan, director of the Caucasus Institute and a political expert.

The expert noted that this is a result of censorship imposed by the authorities, which allows for the consolidation of Azerbaijanis who left during the war. He added, “This is being done, including through statements about the supposed return to Sevan, Zangezur, and so on, which receive no response in society.”

According to him, the situation in Armenia is entirely different, with various scenarios regarding the Karabakh issue being discussed in both the media and the political arena.

It is noteworthy that from November 17-21, a journalistic exchange took place, where representatives from Armenia and Karabakh visited Azerbaijan, while representatives from Azerbaijani media visited Armenia and Karabakh.
